Ronnie’s Blackpool dream ended by The Bull

Terry Jenkins ended Ronnie's stanjames.com World Matchplay involvement after defeating him 17-12 and booking himself a place in the final against Phil Taylor.

Terry took early leads to go 6-1 and 10-5 up before Ronnie hit the sort of form that has impressed so many over the week, to bring the game to within 2 legs. But Jenkins produced a late flourish to send the Ledbury star through.

Ronnie was not at his best, and missed doubles allowed Jenkins legs against throw early into the game, then Jenkins who struggled with the heat on stage started to lose concentration and Baxter took adavntage of missed doubles to pull back to within 1 break of Jenkins at 12-10. 

A 76 checkout moved Jenkins to within 1 leg of victory, although Baxter hung on with a 2 dart finish on 88 for a 14-darter. However, he trailed in the next leg and was waiting on a finish as Jenkins took out double top to book a place in the final.
