Ronnie beaten by Newton in Purfleet

Ronnie went out of the Totesport.com Players Championship in Purfleet today after losing a thrilling last leg decider against Wes Newton.

In round 1, Baxter had the same scenario against Mark Dudbridge with The Rocket coming out on top in that one, but this time it was Ronnie who was on the losing side.

Baxter missed a last dart shot at a nine darter against Dudbridge, just weeks after coming close in the World Championships, missing out on double 12 this time.

"it would of been great to cap it with a 9-darter, I missed the 8th dart at the World Championships and this time I missed the 9th, and it was only half inch away so I'm getting closer"

Against Newton it went again to the last leg, Newton this time coming out on top.

"The last leg was Wes's all the way, he was too strong and I couldn't match him"

Next up for Ronnie is a trip to Gibraltar next weekend.
