Lewis topples The Rocket in Brighton

Ronnie lost 8-6 to Adrian Lewis in Brighton on night six of The Whyte & Mackay Premier League Darts.

Baxter made a flying start to the match going 3-0 up in just 37 darts before Lewis landed double 8 to get off the mark, then took out 86 to break Ronnie's throw to pull back to 3-2. Baxter hit the sam bed to win the next and then punished a Lewis miss to go 5-2 in the lead. Lewis then took the next 2 legs to pull back again to within 1 leg, but then missed double top allowing Baxter to a 6-4 lead.

Some good darts from Lewis mixed with some misses from The Rocket allowed Jackpot to take the next 3 legs to ensure at least a point, but Baxter looked to have secured a share of the points, however Baxter missed 3 darts allowing Lewis to claim the win.

"In the first 3 legs Ronnie was so brilliant it was scary" said Lewis. "He matched or bettered everything I threw at him and it just shows you have to be on top form in every game. I knew if I kept battling I could grind out a result and I put him under pressure, but he still could of got the draw. He missed 3 darts at double top though I took my chance - Sometimes you need a bit of luck and tonight I got some"
