Adrian Lewis came from behind to grab a draw against Ronnie on night 13 of The Whyte & Mackay Premier League in Newcastle.
Ronnie was punished after missing 8 match darts in the final 2 legs as Lewis scrambled a share of the points.
Baxter started as he ended by missing doubles which Lewis punished by going 3-1 up. Ronnie started to play in leg 5 hitting 180 and tops to take the leg and then finishing 88 on the bull to go into the break all square.
Adrian Lewis then hit 180 and double 3 to regain the lead before a 14 darter from The Rocket levelled again. Lewis then took out 86 to win leg 9 and go 5-4 up, and then Ronnie hit the same finish to level again and then took out 100 to lead the match for the first time 6-5.
Double 7 then put Ronnie 7-5 up and sure of at least a point, and after missing 4 darts at double 16 and double 8, Lewis took the leg setting up a decider. Baxter held throw but then missed another four darts at doubles, this time on tops and double 10 before Lewis hit tops to snatch a draw.
"The winnig double can be so hard to hit sometimes and you never know if it will go in" admitted Baxter. "It's just the width of that wire sometimes and it was on the wrong side tonight. I've still got a point though, and that may prove important at the end of next week."
Lewis admitted: "There was a lot of pressure on us both tonight and I'm disapointed with my performance. I was probably lucky to get the draw in the end but I should of been 5-1 up at the break and could of kicked on from there, but I wasn't and left myself with too much to do to win it"
